Espolòn Reposado is made at Destiladora San Nicolás in Los Altos, the highlands of Jalisco, from 100% Blue Weber agave. After open-air fermentation and double distillation, the blanco rests for several months in lightly charred new American oak, picking up vanilla, caramel and warm baking spice while the roasted agave stays front and centre. Its iconic label — starring Ramón the rooster — celebrates the Day of the Dead artwork of José Guadalupe Posada and Mexico's vibrant cantina culture. Expect a bold, fruit-tinged nose, a rounded palate of agave sweetness, tropical fruit, vanilla and pepper, and a long, gently spicy finish. Delicious neat or over ice, and outstanding in a margarita, paloma or tequila old fashioned when you want extra depth without losing agave character.
