Postinor-2 is a trusted emergency contraceptive from Gedeon Richter, used to help prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or when your regular contraception has failed — for example, a burst condom or missed pills. Each pack contains two tablets of levonorgestrel 0.75mg, which work mainly by delaying or preventing ovulation. Postinor-2 is most effective the sooner it is taken: begin the course as soon as possible, and within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. It is intended for occasional, emergency use only and is not a substitute for regular contraception, nor does it protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
